“Building Neighborhoods” at the 59th Annual Parade of Homes

With 38 fully decorated and landscaped homes featured in two distinct subdivisions, the 2004 Parade of Homes is continuing its strong tradition of building beautiful neighborhoods for hosting communities. The Metropolitan Builders Association annual event is the longest running Parade in the nation.

“Our organization, the builders, the subcontractors, the suppliers and the developers take great pride in participating in the Parade,” said Executive Director Matt Moroney. “As a result, the general public has an opportunity to view the best in new home construction.  Featured are innovative floor plans, the  latest trends in interior design, as well as the newest products and technologies.”

Pabst Farms subdivision is located in the City of Oconomowoc and showcases 22 models.  With homes that range from 2,070 - 6,330 square feet, a wide variety of floor plans and amenities will be featured.  “It has been amazing to watch this property be transformed from a flat farm field to a desirable subdivision with all sorts of amenities,” said Moroney.

Taylor’s Woods subdivision is located in the Village of Menomonee Falls and features 16 models that range from 2,720 - 9,220 square feet.  Each model has something different to offer, some of which you may never have even imagined.  “Wow is the best way to describe this subdivision.  Imagine eating breakfast while watching someone sink a putt from a bird’s eye view.  This subdivision makes this scenario a reality,” said Moroney.

Best Room Contest
An addition to this year’s parade is the Best Room Contest.  Each builder has picked one room in their model to highlight.  During the first week of the Parade, attendees get to vote for their favorite room.  Rooms featured for this contest range from open courtyards and indoor theaters to master suites and master baths to glorified laundry rooms and indoor recreation centers.  There’s something for everyone, just make sure that once you’ve picked your favorite you vote for it by Sunday, August 29th.  After the votes are tallied, the best rooms will be featured on the Fox 6 morning show.

Scavenger Hunt
To add some excitement to this year’s Parade and to encourage patrons to visit all 39 of the featured homes, the 2004 Parade of Homes will feature an on-site scavenger hunt. Pick up your scavenger hunt map at the ticket booth at either site. Listed on the map are 39 items that can be found in the Parade homes – match each item to the correct model and be entered to win a variety of great prizes. Winners will be announced each week.
