2004 Parade of Homes Features Scavenger Hunt, Best Room Contest and More!

Although this may be the 59th Annual Parade of Homes, the 2004 version features many new and exciting promotions for attendees. This annual new construction showcase runs from Saturday, August 21 – Sunday, September 12. Hosted by the Metropolitan Builders Association, the Parade features 38 homes in two distinctive subdivisions. If that were not reason enough to attend this year also features the Best Room Contest, Great Parade of Homes Scavenger Hunt, and voting for the People’s Choice Award.

Best Room Contest
In addition to the 38 beautiful homes featured at this year’s Parade, builders chose a room to enter into the 2004 Parade of Homes Best Room Contest. All builders will be showcasing what they consider to be the most innovative and desirable room in their home. Visitors to the Parade will determine the winners of this contest with ballots supplied at the entrance to the site.

Voting will be done during the first week of the parade (August 21 – August 29). The winning rooms will be featured on the Fox 6 Wake Up News with Gus Gnorski the following week. “This is where builders take ordinary things to extraordinary levels,” said MBA Executive Director Matt Moroney. “It is a chance for the public to see the creativity and imagination that our MBA Builders have.”

The Great Parade of Homes Scavenger Hunt
To encourage visitors to see all the homes featured in this year’s Parade the Metropolitan Builders Association and Clear Channel Radio will be hosting the Great Parade of Homes Scavenger Hunt. Each home will have a prominently featured item that attendees will have to locate and use to complete their scavenger hunt map. Maps will be available at the entrance to the Parade site and will identify the items to be found and list the models that they may appear in. Individuals who successfully complete their scavenger hunt map will be entered in a drawing to win fabulous prizes.

“This is a means of encouraging visitors to see all of the homes as well as spend quality time in each home,” said Moroney. “It is also another opportunity for the builders to feature an unusual aspect or interesting detail they have put into the model.”

The Great Parade of Homes Scavenger Hunt will run from Monday, August 30 – Sunday, September 12. Winners will be drawn on a weekly basis.

People’s Choice Award
Your vote really does count! Parade attendees are encouraged to pick up their ballot for the Annual People’s Choice Award. This contest allows the general public to choose their favorite model. Ballots will be available at the entrance to the subdivision. Voters will be entered into a drawing to win a gas grill donated by Genesse Fireplace Systems.
